Admissions Process

Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in Steamboat Mountain School. We are excited to get to know you.

The following information and supporting pages are here to help you through the admissions process.  We highly encourage you to schedule a visit to campus. Seeing our students and teachers in action up in the mountains is not the same as viewing our website; visiting the school will help you make the decision as to whether Steamboat Mountain School is right for you.

Application Process:

Complete the Inquiry Form

Please complete this online Inquiry Form to receive our viewbook. Once you have submitted this form, we would encourage you to schedule your campus visit and interview.

Campus Visit

To schedule a campus visit and interview, please call 970-879-1350, x18, or email us at admissions@steamboatmountainschool.org. We strongly encourage all applicants to visit the school. We want to meet and get to know you. Words cannot describe over fifty years of academic and experiential education. Typically the interview is completed during a campus visit, and prospective students have the opportunity to visit classes. If circumstances preclude an in-person interview, the Admissions Office will make other arrangements.

Apply Online

Submit an application fee of $100 ($200 if applying internationally) to be paid via credit card. Steamboat Mountain School will also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO). Click the link to learn more about it.

Other Application Items

Once the application is completed, please download the recommendation forms as well as the Transcript Release Form, which will be available after your on-line application is submitted. We also require a graded essay from your current school year.
