Financial Aid

At Steamboat Mountain School, we believe everyone who truly has a passion for experiencing our one-of-a-kind program should have access to it. Students participating in the Global Immersion Studies program have an additional fee, while student-winter athletes participating with the SSWSC pay the club’s fees.

Tuition and Fees

The base day student tuition for 2017-18 is $25,500; base boarding student tuition is $46,000. For Tuition Fee and Payment Options, click here.

Students participating in the Global Immersion Studies program have an additional $4,900 obligation, while student-winter athletes participating with the SSWSC pay the fees indicated by them.

A deposit ensures a student’s enrollment, and the rest of the tuition is payable all at once in June, or in two installments, with an administrative fee, in June and November. The GIS fee must be paid by November 1.

The school is dedicated to supporting qualified students through a need-based financial aid program. In the past decade, 30-to-35% of the school’s students have received some level of financial aid.  Steamboat Mountain School seeks to enroll students who will benefit from, and contribute to, their high school experience. To that end, need-based financial aid awards range from relatively modest to nearly the full tuition. While financial aid funds are necessarily limited, Steamboat Mountain School strives to make an education feasible for all accepted students.

Applications for financial aid are managed through School and Student Services (SSS). Financial aid applications can be completed here. Steamboat Mountain School’s code is 8188.
