Joanne "Doc" Lasko starts a new chapter at Steamboat Mountain School

This year's graduation and alumni weekend marked a sentimental rite of passage for me, as my retiring as the Academic Dean (I first accepted the position in 1985) coincides with the school's 60th anniversary and the return to campus of former Heads, faculty, and students, with whom I have remained in contact over thirty-plus years.  What a joyous anniversary celebration for the school and, personally speaking, wonderful walk down memory lane.  This school has produced confident, independent, creative, and fun human beings who share a common understanding of the gifts they received through their Whiteman/Steamboat Mountain School "Experience."  I have been blessed to share the "Experience" with them and am excited to continue teaching next year in our strong and vibrant academic program.  I am looking forward to working with the great group of students who keep Steamboat Mountain School fire burning strong.  (Doc, June 2017)
