New Offering! Back Country Skiing- all day trip added

Steamboat Mountain School is now offering a back country skiing POPS on Friday afternoons. Students need to provide their own equipment and sign up in advance with Mr. Root.
Brick Root, current faculty member, has 40+ years of experience skiing in the backcountry. He is Level 2 certified in avalanche training, and a fully-certified Level PSIA Backcountry Ski Guide.
Students will learn: how to read the snow, the weather effects on terrain and directional light exposure, backcountry and winter skills, and avalanche safety and awareness. They will experience the beauty of backcountry while breaking trail and setting trail. They will see the effects of vegetation on snow pack and coverage of snow. They will learn how to fuel the body for maximizing energy (yummy & healthy snacks!) and have a blast in the snow near campus.

This program has been so popular that we've added an all day trip on Saturday, Jan. 28th.
