Run Rabbit Run- an inside look at a community service project

For the second year in a row, a group of Steamboat Mountain School students volunteered for Run Rabbit Run at one of the Runner Aid stations.  Run Rabbit Run is an annual 50 mile and 100 mile ultra race in and near Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  This year our aid station was located near Summit lake on Buffalo Pass, approximately 20 miles from the finish line.  Dean of Students Brian Smith, and students Jevon Hovey, Lilly Patterson, Christian DeOliviera, and Althea Ort were tasked with making breakfast from 8 am - 2 pm, supporting runners, and cleaning up the area.  It was great to see our student volunteers provide inspiration and compassion for the 100 mile ultra runners during their home stretch of the race.
