Advising Program

Both boarding and day students work closely with an advisor- a faculty member who serves as their personal student advisor.  An Advisor’s responsibility is to provide support for his advisees in the realms of academics and student life. In groups of just three to five students, advisors and advisees meet daily to perform campus chores together, review school rules and policies, discuss grades and classes, and in general develop strong relationships within the community.

Advising Program

The school schedules weekly meeting times during which advisors and advisees meet to discuss relevant issues or topics in the community.   Whether with a speaker at an all school meeting or in small group meetings, these issues or topics are an important piece of the student life curriculum.  Topics and issues include the practical and overarching meaning of the school’s core values and the choices teens face during this important developmental time. The advisor also serves as the main contact for families, communicating with parents and families several times each year about the student’s progress, struggles, and successes.
