Ski & Ride

Steamboat Springs is a winter wonderland, famous for the champagne powderTM that blankets the landscape from late November until spring. We get more than 300 inches of the stuff every year, and we want you to get out and play in it. Whether as a part of our Competetive Ski Program or our Recreational Ski Program, just about everybody at the School skis or snowboards or learns how while they’re here.

Ski & Ride

The Recreational Ski & Ride program is for everyone, and takes the place of gym class during ski season. School classes get concentrated into the morning hours, and in the afternoon the bus takes students, faculty, and staff to Steamboat, one of North America’s finest ski and snowboard resorts.

The Competitive Ski & Ride program is for strong athletes looking for top-level competition in alpine, freestyle, Nordic, telemark, and snowboard events. The program is run in conjunction with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, which has developed dozens of Olympians over the years, including 17 from the School.
